The Order of Physiotherapists met yesterday with Dr Miguel Pavão, President of the Order of Dentists. The meeting was attended by OF President António Lopes, Vice-President Nuno Cordeiro and physiotherapist Olímpio Pereira.
Issues common to the Physiotherapist and Dentist professions were discussed, and points of convergence for an institutional and professional relationship were addressed.
"There are few research studies on violence specifically related to physiotherapists, either in Portugal or abroad. But that doesn't mean that this isn't an area of concern for the Order, because the nature of the physiotherapist intervention model and the contexts in which they work expose professionals, and also students, to clear and frequent risk situations. "

The President of the Order of Physiotherapists, António Lopes, attended the swearing-in ceremony of the national and regional bodies and the board of the speciality colleges of the Order of Technical Engineers on 13 January.
