Today, 17 September, is World Patient Safety Day.
The Order of Physiotherapists joins this initiative by the World Health Organisation (WHO) and considering that Patient Safety is a priority for Physiotherapists, recommends consulting the National Patient Safety Plan 2021-2026 (PNSD 2021-2026)approved under the terms of Order no. 9390/2021, of 24 September.
The PNSD 2021-2026 is based on 5 main pillars, with their respective strategic objectives, plus the corresponding actions and targets.
- Pillar 1: Safety culture;
- Pillar 2: Leadership and governance;
- Pillar 3: Communication;
- Pillar 4: Prevention and management of patient safety incidents;
- Pillar 5: Safe practices in safe environments.
